The 'Bączek' bottle is a project by Zbigniew Horbowy, created in Poland during the 1970s, a period renowned for the flourishing of local studio glass. Made from mottled, hand-blown glass, it captivates with its harmonious color gradient: a deep burnt orange at the base transitions fluidly through tangerine tones, culminating in a vivid yellow at the slender neck. The vessel’s rounded, bulbous body gently extends into an elongated, delicate neck, all finished in the high-gloss typical of artisanal blown glass. The absence of decorative engravings or reliefs gives prominence to the modernist purity of the silhouette, reflecting the tenets of Polish late 20th-century design. The surface may display natural, subtle air bubbles – hallmarks of handcrafted glass works.
