The U 460 bar sideboard, designed by Jiří Jiroutek for Interier Praha in the 1960s, is an embodiment of Central European mid-century modernism. Its construction is divided into three segments: a lower cabinet in light brown oak veneer with visible, natural wood grain set on splayed, tapered legs; a central connecting panel; and an upper bar section. The left side of the upper part features a compartment with a mirrored back, glass shelf, and sliding glass panel, while the right side has lockable wooden doors concealing two glass shelves and a designated bottle area. The sideboard is finished in a warm, honey-toned oak with a semi-matte sheen. Integrated handles are discreet, underscoring the minimalist design. Condition: very good, professionally restored, with only minimal signs of use visible on the lower cabinet.This sideboard echoes the spirit of the 1960s, when Czech design pursued a balance between expressive simplicity and practical innovation. Its proportions and clean lines narrate an era that valued order and restraint, yet welcomed material ingenuity.
