ABOUT PRODUCTID 19991
This early 20th-century sugar bowl, produced by the Warsaw-based Norblin company, is a representative example of Polish Art Nouveau metalwork. Crafted from silver-plated brass, it features a cool, silvery tone with a subtly matte finish. The undulating, scalloped rim and softly twisted handle, forming an arched basket-like grip, reflect the organic lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The bowl's surface is smooth and displays gentle textural variations, without additional ornamentation or engravings. The handle is attached with rounded, ball-shaped joints, giving the piece a harmonious and balanced silhouette. The interior bears a warm patina, and the overall condition is very good: minor surface marks and discolorations are present, typical for silver-plated brass of this age, but there are no significant damages or visible repairs. The sugar bowl’s form and details evoke the early modernist spirit, when natural inspiration shaped everyday objects. Its organic curves speak of an era that valued fluid lines and artisanal craftsmanship. The silvery surface, marked by the passage of time, seems to whisper of past gatherings and afternoon teas—a testament to a period when utility and subtle ornamentation coexisted seamlessly. This piece can be used as a distinctive accent on a classic dining table or paired with porcelain featuring undulating edges to highlight its Art Nouveau origins. It would suit interiors inspired by the turn of the 20th century, as well as eclectic, collector’s spaces, where it could offer a gentle contrast to contemporary details. It may be combined with other muted metal accessories or a crystal dish, enhancing the noble character of silver-plated brass and the organic lines of its form.
