This Art Deco bedside lamp from the 1930s, produced in Kraków by Spółdzielnia Pracy Metal, showcases a thoughtfully constructed interplay of materials, lines, and textures. The hexagonal base is crafted from mahogany-veneered wood in a medium brown tone with gentle reddish undertones, finished in a satin varnish. Chromed or nickel-plated steel structures, including a circular frame and lampholder, lend a cool, mirrored sheen that distinctively contrasts with the warmth of the wooden base. At the center, a slightly flattened, ribbed glass globe diffuses light with a creamy ivory glow, its semi-translucent surface delicately reflective. The brass socket capped with a porcelain nut and the braided fabric cord complete the lamp's period authenticity. The geometric interplay of arcs and steps, alongside the Art Deco ‘stepped’ base and chromed frame, encapsulates the style's disciplined elegance. The lamp remains in very good overall condition; all parts are original with no significant restoration or damage, only minimal traces
