ABOUT PRODUCTID 17597
This bedside lamp commemorating Soviet achievements in space exploration stands as an example of Space Age propaganda design from the 1970s, produced at the Moscow Electromechanical Plant 'Izolyator'. It is made of matte, medium gray plastic with a subtly textured finish, accented by stepped elements in graphite-black tones. From the base rises a clear, glossy acrylic arc stylized as the luminous trail of a rocket launch, illuminated from below with a warm, diffuse orange-red light. At the apex of this dynamic curve sits a rocket with a matte silver finish. The front of the base is decorated with bas-relief panels featuring iconic Soviet imagery, including a portrait of Lenin, in a dark, metallic tone. Serving a decorative rather than practical function, the lamp emits a soft, atmospheric glow and features a geometric, elongated silhouette characteristic of Soviet-era Space Age design. Dimensions: base 19 × 8 cm, height 19 cm. Condition: very good, no signs of repair or restoration, with all original components.Within this lamp resonates the grandeur of an era when space conquest embodied collective ambition and belief in a technological future. The geometry and materials speak with the voice of engineers who saw in the rocket not only a machine, but also a triumphal symbol. The transparent arc diffusing orange-red light calls to mind night-time rocket launches from the cosmodrome, each flare an event of national
