ABOUT PRODUCTID 10929
This nomadic Beluch rug from Afghanistan is a handwoven piece measuring 85 by 145 cm (including fringes), crafted entirely from natural wool for both warp and weft. The composition features a deep, matte brown base, punctuated by accents of burnt orange, ochre, cream, and saturated indigo. Geometric patterns—diamonds, stylized animals, stepped lines—form a rhythmic sequence characteristic of the Beluch tribal tradition, while vivid red and yellow stripes frame the central field with vibrant contrast. The pile is dense and tight (approx. 200,000 knots/m2, thickness about 9 mm), providing robust durability for everyday use. The fringes, made from undyed wool, display slight irregularities typical of authentic handcraft. The rug is in very good condition, showing a gentle patina and signs of careful use, with no damage or significant wear. This rug echoes the journeys between Persia and Afghanistan—a narrative woven into every line of its geometric design, imbuing the piece with the symbolism of daily life, nature, and tribal beliefs. The earthy palette calls to mind images of desert trails and nighttime campfires, where patterns were passed down through
