These antique binding pliers, produced by the Schiffers manufactory in Warsaw in the 1890s, are a notable example of utilitarian objects imbued with decorative artistry. Crafted from brass plated with silver, the piece displays a cool, silvery hue with a slightly matte finish. The entire silhouette of a stork forms both the handles and the jaws, with the body and wings richly textured to imitate feathers, while the elongated legs and beak are smooth, emphasizing the bird’s natural proportions. Two circular handles, integrated into the stork’s legs, end in flat, round bases for stability. Designed as table pliers, their dimensions are 15 cm long, 5.5 cm wide, and 1.5 cm deep.
