ABOUT PRODUCTID 5266
The 'Violinist' decorative platter was produced in the 1960s by the Tułowice Tableware Stoneware Factory. Made of glazed stoneware, it features classic proportions: 32 cm in diameter, 4 cm in height. Its glossy black surface is adorned with a dynamic, abstract depiction of a violinist in a warm cream tone, applied with a spray technique. The front is defined by bold, geometric lines and a stylized, almost cubist human form. The reverse bears the factory mark: 'PT | TUŁOWICE | MADE IN POLAND'. The piece shows no visible signs of use, damage, or restoration. Form and decoration evoke the modernist spirit of Polish mid-century ceramics. The contrast between the deep black background and the bright motif draws the eye and introduces a sense of energy, while the geometric figure suggests movement and musical narrative. The smooth glaze and precision of the sprayed pattern reflect a fusion of utilitarian function with expressive graphic design. The platter can serve as a focal point on a living room sideboard or be displayed as wall art in a muted interior. It may be paired with other simple ceramic objects or light wood furniture. Soft, diffused lighting will highlight the glossy finish and color contrast. Combining it with textiles featuring geometric patterns or minimalist decor can create a cohesive composition inspired by the style of the 1960s.
