ABOUT PRODUCTID 9510
This rosewood bookcase, designed by Johannes Sorth on the Danish island of Bornholm in the 1960s, is crafted from distinctly grained rosewood in a deep, warm brown with subtle reddish undertones. The satin finish brings out the natural beauty of the wood without excessive gloss. The upper section features three open shelves, ideal for displaying books or decorative objects. Below, a compartment with a sliding tambour door conceals three small drawers and dividers for organizing smaller items. The lower cabinet, closed by sliding doors, contains two shelves providing extra storage space. The bookcase stands on slender, tapered legs typical of Danish mid-century modern design. The construction reveals careful joinery and smoothly operating sliding mechanisms, with all surfaces smooth to the touch and all elements appearing original. Condition:
