ABOUT PRODUCTID 6166
This bookcase, designed by Børge Mogensen in the 1960s, represents Danish functionalism and the balanced proportions characteristic of mid-century modern style. Constructed from teak wood, the piece is finished with a warm brown veneer that features subtle reddish undertones and a semi-matte sheen, highlighting the natural grain and tonal variations. The drawer handles, crafted in polished brass, introduce a refined, golden contrast to the matte wood. The structure rests on a substantial solid teak plinth, providing both stability and visual unity. Inside, nine adjustable shelves and eight deep drawers—each with consistent, fine-grained teak veneer—offer ample storage. The craftsmanship is visible in the precise joinery and the fluid lines of the silhouette. The bookcase is preserved in very good condition, with minor signs of use and professionally filled veneer chips—typical of carefully refreshed vintage pieces. This design echoes the voice of 1960s Danish modernism: respect for materials, restrained
