ABOUT PRODUCTID 19800
The 'Borówka' ladle embodies Polish artistic craftsmanship of the 1920s, produced by the Norblin manufactory and crafted from silver-plated brass. Its slender, elongated stem moves seamlessly into a deep, hemispherical bowl. The predominantly matte surface, tinged with a gentle patina, contrasts with localized metallic shine, particularly pronounced within the smooth interior of the bowl. The handle displays a pronounced relief ornamentation of berry and leaf motifs—melding the fluid, organic curves of Art Nouveau with the emerging geometric clarity of early Art Deco. The broad, oval base of the handle is framed by undulating, asymmetrical floral patterns, transitioning smoothly into a ribbed, decorative stem. Construction is cohesive, with subtle, seamless transitions between the bowl and handle, evidencing careful craftsmanship. The piece presents micro-scratches, small speckles and visible wear to the silver plating on raised decorations and edges, while retaining all original ornamental details. The overall condition remains very good: no deep dents or damage, with authentic patina enhancing the historical and collector’s value. This ladle echoes the spirit of Poland’s interwar years—an era when decorative arts looked to modern European movements, marrying botanical ornamentation with an early sense of streamline order. The prominent berries and leaves on the handle recall the elegant atmosphere of old-world salons, when every table detail held significance and silvery patina recorded the stories of family gatherings. Matte and gloss finishes interplay subtly, suggesting that restrained beauty and daily function once belonged together
