This late 19th-century bottle stand in the form of a sleigh was produced by the renowned German manufacturer WMF. Crafted from brass, silver-plated to achieve a cool, silvery hue with a subtly matte surface, the stand displays flowing, organic lines and decorative scrollwork at the ends, reflecting the late historicist and Art Nouveau influences of its era. Elegantly curved metal rods form the runners and frame, finished with small ball finials and two decorative side chains, underscoring the lightness and finesse of the design. The bottle holder comprises two upright circular bands—front and back—ensuring secure support for the bottle. All joints and connections are meticulously executed, with no visible screws or welds, attesting to the high level of craftsmanship. The proportions are balanced and harmonious, and the open structure imparts an airy, refined character. Condition is very good: the surface is free from visible patina, dents, or scratches, and all elements appear original and authentic, with no signs of repair or restoration.This stand seems to echo the spirit of the late 19th century, when utilitarian objects became decorative pieces with almost jewel-like expression.
