The 'antico' bottle vase designed by Zbigniew Horbowy for Huta Szkła Sudety is an outstanding example of Polish art glass from the 1970s, appreciated for both its form and craftsmanship. The organic, bulbous body flows seamlessly into a short, cylindrical neck finished with a delicate flared rim. Made of soda-lime glass colored in the mass, the vase features the distinctive Antico technique—its interior is filled with a dense, dynamic pattern of tiny air bubbles, giving it a semi-transparent, mosaic-like effect that diffuses light in a painterly manner. The coloration is warm, amber-yellow with gentle golden undertones, and the entire vessel is crowned by a finely polished base with a visible lens-shaped pontil mark.
