This large ceramic bowl by Soholm, designed by Einar Johansen in Denmark during the 1960s, exemplifies Scandinavian modernism at its finest. The bowl features a square shape with softly rounded corners and slightly raised edges, emphasizing its geometric and synthetic character. The deep cobalt blue glaze transitions subtly from a darker shade at the rim to a lighter, more vibrant blue towards the center, creating a striking gradient effect. At the center, a bold, symmetrical abstract motif composed of two intersecting diamonds filled with a raised triangular pattern stands out, highlighted in warm brown that contrasts with the cool blue background.
