ABOUT PRODUCTID 14860
The HB554 ceramic bowl, designed by Hedwig Bollhagen in the 1960s for the HB workshops in Marwitz, exemplifies minimalist, square design with softly rounded corners and straight vertical sides. Made of ceramic, the bowl is rendered in an intense, cool turquoise hue, with a semi-gloss glaze that subtly shifts in tone and depth under natural light, revealing handmade character and fine, natural crazing expected of authentic vintage ceramics. Its proportions (11.5 cm wide, 11.5 cm deep, 3 cm high; weight approx. 250 g) make it versatile: ideal as a small serving dish, for bread, starters, or fruit. There are no decorative patterns or additional colors—this functional purity highlights the spirit of modernism, while the even, hand-applied glaze and sensitively finished edges attest to its quality craftsmanship. The bowl is very well preserved, with no chips or damages; only the subtle signs of the artisan's process speak of its origin.
