This hand-blown glass bowl, designed by Milan Metelák for the Harrachov Glassworks in Czechoslovakia, dates from the late 1960s. Crafted from honey-amber, transparent glass with medium to high saturation, the piece features an organically rounded form accented by small, embedded air bubbles—decorative elements unique to each object. The rim is detailed with three gentle indentations, a subtle nod to its function as an ashtray in its day. The bowl’s construction is seamless, with a slightly raised, clear, and stable base. Its glossy surface allows light to play beautifully across the glass, highlighting the depth of color and texture created by the trapped air bubbles. The item is preserved in very good original condition, showing only minimal signs of use typical for glass from this era.
