ABOUT PRODUCTID 20780
This large decorative bowl was created at the Chribska glassworks, designed by Josef Hospodka, a leading figure in Czechoslovakian art glass of the second half of the 20th century. Hand-formed from substantial glass, the bowl features a striking raspberry-pink color with a distinct gradient—intense, saturated pink at the base transitioning to a lighter, almost translucent shade at the rim. The high-gloss, mirrored surface reflects light, accentuating the organic, asymmetrical silhouette. The gently undulating rim and wide, shallow profile evoke sculptural mid-century modern inspirations, blending biomorphic shapes with fluid lines. The thickness of the glass, seamless transitions, and absence of visible joints attest to exceptional craftsmanship. The bowl shows no signs of wear, chips, or cracks—preserved in excellent condition. This piece embodies the spirit of 1970s Czechoslovakian modernism, when designers like Hospodka pushed the boundaries of form and color, elevating utilitarian objects to art. Its organic lines, reminiscent of flowing water, and subtle color transitions echo an era when applied arts became both a statement of individuality and a field for creative experimentation. The weighty yet softly modeled glass invites light to play across
