ABOUT PRODUCTID 6071
This shell-shaped bowl from Murano, produced by the Seguso glassworks in the 1960s or 1970s, is a refined example of Italian art glass craftsmanship. The form, inspired by a natural shell, is hand-shaped from ivory-toned opaline glass. Suspended within the glass mass are fine golden particles, lending the piece a discreet shimmer and subtle decorative depth. The compact, organic silhouette (13 × 10.5 × 5.5 cm) combines a soft edge with distinct grooves reminiscent of Art Nouveau motifs. The gently curled rim and slightly raised base contribute to its sculptural presence. The condition is very good—no visible damage, glass remains clear with vivid coloration. This bowl carries the spirit of Italian modernism, where tradition and artistic freedom coexist. Murano glass, always seeking harmony between light and color, here speaks through a milky haze and golden glimmers. The shell form evokes nature, yet its flowing folds and embedded flecks recall a time when Art Nouveau was reimagined by glassmakers in a postwar, optimistic era. The vessel stands as a quiet witness to Italian salons of the 1960s—discreetly drawing the eye and illuminating its surroundings in a tranquil way. The dish may be displayed on a low coffee table, where its creamy white and gold accents interact with natural daylight. It pairs well with other glass or ceramic pieces from the late 1960s and 1970s. It could be combined with minimalist mid-century modern
