ABOUT PRODUCTID 29710
This large Murano Tutti Frutti art glass bowl, designed by Dino Martens for AvEM in the 1960s, exemplifies the bold, experimental spirit of mid-century Italian glassmaking. Its asymmetrical, organically contoured form with a gently pinched rim is crafted from substantial, layered glass: the exterior is dominated by deep cobalt blue, while the interior reveals a vibrant mosaic of swirling zanfirico canes, filigree latticino, millefiori murrine, and flecks of gold and silver leaf. The palette encompasses shades of blue, green, pink, yellow, and white, unified by a high-gloss surface that enhances the luminous depth of the glass. Weighing 2.2 kg and measuring 22 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height, this bowl is notably large for the genre. Only minimal, expected surface scratches are visible on the flat base. The piece is preserved in excellent vintage condition, free of chips or cracks, and retains its original manufacturer's sticker.
The form and colours of this bowl speak in the language of 1960s Italian modernism: a fearless approach to colour blends with technical mastery, and the expressive, spontaneous decorations recall a time when Murano glassmakers were pushing boundaries
