This Polish brutalist mirror from the 1970s, attributed to Chronos, features a rectangular, rounded-corner mirrored glass set within a sculptural, hand-crafted frame made of richly patinated, natural brown leather. The leather’s surface displays a diversity of deep chocolate tones—from almost blackened shadows to coppery highlights—which enhance the sense of material depth and age. The finish is predominantly matte, interrupted by spots of natural gloss where the leather has been polished or worn over time. The texture of the frame is visually striking: wide sections adjacent to the glass exhibit a rugged, hammered pattern, while undulating organic folds animate the upper corners. The asymmetrical, decorative ridges are accentuated by irregular rows of tiny, round holes, underlining the brutalist and expressive spirit of the piece. The leather edges are meticulously wrapped and stitched onto a sturdy wooden substructure. The overall construction is solid, with the mirror’s simplicity providing a counterpoint to the irregular, dynamic form of the frame. The mirror is preserved in very good condition, displaying only minor signs of natural patina, gentle scuffing, and subtle leather creasing typical for authentic vintage items, with no visible defects
