ABOUT PRODUCTID 15870
This wooden Art Deco-style butler figure from the 1950s reflects the spirit of post-war decorative optimism. Carefully carved entirely from wood, the piece features articulated arms attached to the torso with visible screws, underscoring a geometric yet playful approach to form. The main color is a matte, ivory white with a warm cream tone, contrasted by deep navy blue horizontal stripes – a nod to the vintage swimsuits of the early twentieth century. Painted black hair, a graphic moustache, and vibrant red shoes enhance the cartoon-like, exaggerated character, while the stylized facial features and intentionally caricatured proportions speak to the mid-century modern and Art Deco revival sensibilities. The round wooden serving tray is both a whimsical and functional touch. The base, wide and stable, is painted in matching cream, with gentle abrasion along the edges which testifies to its vintage
