This cabinet box, produced by WMF in Germany around 1900-1905, is a synthesis of meticulous craftsmanship and Art Nouveau aesthetics. The body is made of transparent, faceted crystal glass with sharp plane cuts, producing a geometric play of light. The lid, crafted from silver-plated pewter with a matte, slightly satin finish, is shaped in the language of German Art Nouveau. Its central high-relief depicts the profile of a pointer dog—each strand of fur and anatomical feature rendered with naturalistic precision. Corner details take the form of stylized foliage or stalks, subtly echoing the organic inspiration of the era. A monogram appears on the lower edge of the lid. The junction between metal and glass is flawlessly executed, a testament to WMF's manufacturing standards. There are subtle traces of natural patina on the metal; the glass is free from blemishes, and no restorations are visible.
