This candlestick, made by Norblin in Warsaw in the second half of the 19th century, exemplifies Neo-Baroque craftsmanship in which rich ornamentation meets refined electroplating technique. The body is formed from brass plated with silver, giving it a cool, silvery hue with warmer golden undertones where the silver layer has gently worn away. The surface finish is largely matte with satin highlights, particularly where relief floral decoration catches the light. The square base, deeply embossed with botanical motifs, smoothly transitions into an elegant, tapering stem adorned with low-relief foliate ornamentation and garlands. The openwork drip pan beneath the candle holder features a leaf pattern, lending visual lightness and a sense of delicacy. Proportions are stately yet harmonious — a wide, stable foundation narrows towards a more intricate candle holder. Textures shift subtly from smooth, semi-glossy planes to pronounced, textured ornamentation. Signs of a gentle patina and historic wear are present throughout, appropriate for its age.
