ABOUT PRODUCTID 109
This antique set, comprising a water carafe and matching glass, originates from late 19th-century Bohemia, a region renowned for its glassmaking tradition. Both pieces are made of hand-blown glass in a vibrant turquoise hue, the carafe featuring a bulbous body, slender neck, and slightly flared rim, while the cylindrical glass is finished with softly rounded edges. Each is adorned with delicately hand-painted white enamel floral motifs in the characteristic 'Mary Gregory' style, with large blossoms and leafy details applied in a light, almost ethereal stroke. The glass displays subtle variations in color intensity, especially where it thickens at the base and neck, along with small air bubbles and slight irregularities that testify to the artisanal, handcrafted process of the era. The set is preserved in very good condition, with only a minor flaw on the carafe's spout. This glassware echoes the spirit of the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods—when a taste for ornament and delicate floral motifs met the finesse of master craftsmanship. The turquoise glass recalls the coolness of Czech rivers and lakes, while the white enamel flowers evoke fleeting summer mornings in a garden
