This Art Deco cocktail carafe, also known as a shaker, was produced by Sandrik, a renowned manufacturer founded in 1895 near Banská Štiavnica in the former Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Slovakia). Made in the 1920s, it features silver-plated brass, giving the surface a cool, mirror-like sheen. The cylindrical lid handle, crafted from black-stained wood, offers a striking contrast to the silver body. The design is distinctly Art Deco: geometric, streamlined, with a stepped, tiered lid and vertically fluted base that add both texture and visual interest. The proportions are elegant—a tall, tapering body (33 cm high) that gently widens towards the top, set on a solid, circular base (13.5 cm diameter)—balancing visual lightness with stability. The carafe is in very good condition, with a smooth, glossy surface and only minor signs of age such as subtle patina and fine surface marks, typical for its era.
