This silver-mounted carafe from the historic Egerman glassworks in Novy Bor exemplifies Bohemian craftsmanship inspired by 19th-century historicist designs. Crafted from double-layered glass—a striking combination of clear and deep ruby red—the vessel features meticulous, hand-cut vertical geometric patterns resembling diamond cuts that run the length of the body and base. The surface is richly textured, capturing and reflecting light with every facet. The broad, cylindrical base assures stability and introduces a harmonious proportionality to the silhouette. The silver fitting, hallmarked 800, displays markings typical for the late 19th-century German craftsmanship. The carafe is crowned by a finely detailed silver stopper, depicting a Roman warrior leading a horse, finished with a subtle, noble patina. Every element is seamlessly matched, with a unified construction and no visible chips, cracks, or signs of damage.
