This monumental Murano catchall, designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte in the 1970s, exemplifies the height of the sommerso technique. The piece features a geometric square outline with a deep, rounded bowl, crafted from glass and crystal. At its core lies a saturated ruby red, surrounded by a wide yellow band and encased in a thick, clear glass layer. The high-gloss finish enhances the fluidity of the form and allows light to refract across the perfectly smooth, mirror-like surfaces. Subtle swirls and traces from the glassblowing process can be seen inside the bowl, while the proportions – 14 × 14 × 5.5 cm and a weight of 2 kg – give the object a commanding presence on any table or console. The original Murano label remains intact, attesting to the authenticity of the piece. The condition is very good, with no chips, cracks, or restoration marks; only minor surface scratches consistent with age are visible.
