The Saturno ceiling lamp, designed by Kazuo Motozawa for Staff Leuchten in Germany during the 1970s, exemplifies late modernism with clear references to mid-century modern and space age aesthetics. Constructed from metal plated with brass in a warm, golden tone and finished in a satin, semi-matte texture, the lamp features a square, flat base with gently rounded corners that transitions smoothly into a conical body tapering downward. The central, exposed socket accommodates E27 bulbs, allowing for personalized light output. All transitions between geometric elements are precisely crafted, and the brass surface displays a subtle patina and minor traces of use, typical for authentic vintage pieces. The lamp is in very good condition, showing only delicate signs of use that do not affect its functionality. In Saturno's form one can hear the voice of the 1970s, a time when fascination with futurism and science translated into bold yet restrained designs.
