ABOUT PRODUCTID 9610
This ceiling lamp by Peill & Putzler from the 1970s is an example of German lighting design emblematic of the mid-century modern era. Its main feature is a wide, shallow shade made of hand-blown crystal glass, rendered in a translucent matte white. The surface is adorned with irregular horizontal bands in milky white, encircling the dome and earning the model the nickname “zebra.” The glass displays artisanal qualities—tiny air bubbles and subtle undulations are visible, highlighting its craftsmanship. The glass dome sits atop a metal base, housing two porcelain E27 lamp holders that allow for even and ample light diffusion. The design is compact, with a smoothly contoured form and no sharp edges. The lamp is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips; only minor traces of age and a natural patina on the glass are visible. This ceiling light echoes the spirit of its decade, when geometric patterns and organic motifs merged with advancements in glassmaking. The blurred white stripes resemble traces of light on a frosted screen, conjuring the ambiance of the 1970s—a time when form experimentation
