ABOUT PRODUCTID 29556
This large ceiling light from the 1960s, designed by Helena Tynell for the German manufacturer Limburg, is a distinctive example of mid-century modern lighting. The hand-blown bubble glass shade stands out with its sculptural form: the surface is covered with numerous rounded protrusions, creating an organic effect reminiscent of a cluster of grapes or soap bubbles. The glass features a light amber, champagne-golden hue that harmonizes with the understated golden metal base. Measuring 31 cm in diameter and 12.5 cm in height, the shade’s clarity and glossy, almost mirror-like finish grant the fixture a luminous character. This lamp speaks to the spirit of the 1960s—a time of experimentation with light and materials, when interiors sought new forms of expression. Its organic shape echoes the freedom of postwar design, while the golden glass gently diffuses the light, creating an atmosphere that is both joyful and intimate. The fixture can be paired with teak wood furniture, minimalist sideboards, or graphite accents to highlight its modernist pedigree. It would work well in a mid-century-inspired living room or in eclectic collector’s interiors, where it naturally becomes a focal point. Combining it with soft textiles or
