ABOUT PRODUCTID 29665
This vintage ceiling light, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg (Germany, 1970s), represents mature mid-century modern design. The sculptural shade, crafted from hand-blown bubble glass in a light amber, golden hue, forms a dome-shaped silhouette measuring 31 cm in diameter and 23 cm in height. The surface features multiple convex glass bubbles, creating a three-dimensional, tactile texture. The transparent, glossy glass enhances the interplay of light and reflection, while the contrasting matte black metal base brings a modern yet understated accent to the whole. Attention to detail is evident in the seamless integration of glass and metal and the harmonious proportions. The original manufacturer’s label is preserved. The lamp remains in very good vintage condition, with no visible signs of wear or damage. This piece echoes the voice of an era when fascination with light and material led designers to experiment with glass textures. Helena Tynell, known for her sculptural glass shades, conceived a composition reminiscent of glowing amber suspended in undulating water. As light filters through the bubble glass, interiors are bathed in a soft, diffused glow, evoking the optimism and playful forms of the 1970s. Each detail tells the story of a time that valued decorative quality without excess and functionality in service of aesthetics. Ideally suited for a mid-century
