ABOUT PRODUCTID 29448
This ceiling light, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg in the 1960s/70s, is a refined example of mid-century modern design, where organic forms and material quality are paramount. The hand-blown, transparent glass shade features a subtle greenish tint and a distinctive three-dimensional pattern of regular, raised bubbles. The glossy surface amplifies the interplay of light and reflections, resulting in a visually dynamic effect. With a diameter of 26 cm and a height of 11 cm, the shallow dome sits close to the ceiling or wall, emphasizing its harmonious proportions. The metal base, with a gentle patina consistent with age, completes the composition, while the discreet manufacturer’s label confirms authenticity. The condition is very good—the glass is free from chips or cracks, and the base shows only minor signs of wear. This lamp speaks in the voice of late 1960s and early 1970s German modernism: its form is a testament to the era’s optimism, when glass was meant to both illuminate and decorate everyday life. The bubble pattern seems to capture the lightness and playfulness of the time, with its airy structure and tactile surface. Light diffused through the geometric relief
