ABOUT PRODUCTID 29645
This large ceiling pendant, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg in the 1960s, exemplifies European mid-century modern craftsmanship. The 26 cm shade is hand-blown glass in rich amber and champagne tones, featuring a distinctive geometric, diamond-bubble texture. The glass is glossy, with a three-dimensional surface that diffuses light softly and evenly. The lamp is topped with a cylindrical brass fitting, finished in a matte, lightly patinated tone—minor surface marks and patina highlight the authenticity and age of the metal. A black, unobtrusive cord suspends the lamp, giving the composition a sense of lightness. The original manufacturer’s sticker remains intact. Very good condition: subtle patina and minimal signs of use on the brass, with no visible chips or cracks to the glass.
This lighting tells the story of the 1960s, when European interiors were shaped by geometry, illumination, and noble materials. The amber glass recalls an era when design was intended to be both practical and sensual—light plays across the raised pattern like sunlight in a crystal decanter, casting a soft, golden glow. The brass top, softly patinated, brings a note of refined austerity, and the overall effect reflects the designer’s ability to combine decorative flair with formal clarity.
The pendant can be paired with a wooden table or a low 1960s sideboard to highlight its heritage. It works beautifully in mid-century modern interiors as well as more eclectic spaces—consider combining it
