ABOUT PRODUCTID 29531
This ceiling lamp from the 1960s, produced by the renowned Limburg glassworks in Germany, draws attention with its precise octagonal geometry and a material palette emblematic of modernist and Bauhaus aesthetics. The shade is crafted from thick, hand-blown transparent glass with a high-gloss finish, segmented by bold black iron lines forming a regular grid. The upper section features a polished brass cylinder, glossy and contrasting with the matte iron stripes. Measuring approximately 80 cm in height (with adjustable drop), and 25 cm in both width and depth, the lamp combines a visible bulb with meticulously detailed metalwork, emphasizing its industrial yet architectural character. The piece is preserved in excellent vintage condition: there are no visible chips, cracks, or signs of wear; all elements are original, and the lamp has been rewired for contemporary electrical systems.
This lamp embodies the spirit of its era—1960s Germany, an age defined by a fascination with pure geometry and material experimentation. The clear glass, banded by black gridwork, evokes the modernist visions of architects pursuing a balance between formal austerity and refined detail. The polished brass acts as a warm accent, reflecting light like a jewel set against the cool, architectural body.
