The Ipsen ceramic centerpiece bowl from Denmark, crafted in the 1920s, exemplifies the late Art Nouveau era’s approach to decorative and functional objects. Made of glazed ceramic, the bowl features a warm, saturated amber-orange background with a semi-matte finish. The rim is subtly scalloped and defined by a dark, nearly black accent, lending the form clarity and structure. At the center, a highly detailed, three-dimensional chestnut leaf and fruit relief stands out, hand-modeled and painted in naturalistic shades of green and brown, with visible veins and realistic textural detail.
