A large ceramic pedestal bowl designed by Jorgen Andersen, Denmark, from the 1970s. The bowl is distinguished by its matte, dark charcoal-grey exterior, left unglazed for a natural, tactile finish that emphasizes the raw character of the ceramic. The interior features a glossy, crackle-glazed surface in a warm, light beige tone, accented by dynamic, abstract patterns in vibrant turquoise and deep blue. The painterly effect of the glaze, combined with visible crackling, adds depth and a distinctly vintage quality. The bowl stands on a low, integrated foot, and a round medallion with the artist’s turquoise monogram is applied to the outer wall as both a decorative and signature element. Its harmonious proportions, thick walls, and open, wide form reflect the spirit of Scandinavian modernism. The piece is signed and in very good condition, with minor abrasions to the unglazed chamotte and a small chip on the upper rim, all consistent with age and use.
