ABOUT PRODUCTID 2640
The 'Les Arcs' chair, designed by Charlotte Perriand in the 1960s, stands as a striking example of French modernist design. Its construction is based on a slender tubular chromed steel frame, creating an open and lightweight silhouette. The seat and backrest are made from natural, light brown leather with a matte finish, suspended on the frame with visible leather straps and metal rivets. These exposed joints and fastenings emphasize the chair’s utilitarian, industrial character. The legs are slightly splayed, and the overall profile is subtly ergonomic: the backrest gently reclines while the seat curves to support the body. The leather’s warm brown tones, touched by a hint of patina, contrast with the cool, reflective chrome. At the feet, small areas of worn chrome reveal a reddish underlayer, yet the chair remains in good overall condition with original glides and no significant structural damage. This chair embodies the voice of its era, when functionalism met a bold spirit of experimentation. Created for the famous Les Arcs ski resort,
