This chamberstick, produced by the Norblin manufactory in Warsaw at the end of the 19th century, exemplifies utilitarian craftsmanship from the era of historic modernism. Made of brass plated with silver, it features a warm, slightly yellowed silver hue, with visible patina and areas where the brass subtly shows through the worn plating. The construction is based on a shallow, round dish, a centrally positioned candle holder with a gently flared rim, and an ergonomically shaped handle adorned with a subtle organic motif and ending in a small round thumb rest. The proportions are balanced, with strong soldered joints at the handle. The Norblin maker's mark is clearly visible on the underside, underscoring the authenticity of the piece. The condition is good for its age: fine scratches, discoloration, and traces of use are present, along with some wear, but there are no major structural damages. This chamberstick carries the voice of late 19th-century Warsaw, a time of transformation and urban growth.
