ABOUT PRODUCTID 1705
This chamberstick, produced by the Fraget manufactory in Warsaw around 1860, is made of brass plated with silver. Its compact form (approximately 9 cm high, 12 cm long and wide) is defined by a square base with undulating, scalloped edges inspired by Rococo styling. The central candle holder is bulbous, adorned with a ring of raised, rounded motifs, and set on a conical base. A large, oval thumb ring with a decorative medallion is attached to one corner, serving as a practical and ornamental carrying handle. The color palette is a subdued, warm gold with remnants of silver plating, showing areas of soft patina and a mainly matte finish, with gentle sheen where the silver remains intact. The surface displays natural signs of age—wear, patina, and minor scratches reveal the original brass beneath the silver. The underside bears the J. Fraget signature, confirming authenticity. Condition is very good for its age—no major structural damage, and the piece retains its period character and authenticity. This chamberstick carries the narrative of Warsaw craftsmanship in the mid-19th century, where everyday utility met attention to detail
