ABOUT PRODUCTID 9235
Designed by W. Berndt for Flygsfors in Sweden during the 1960s, this chandelier is a clear example of Scandinavian mid-century modern design, where natural materials and refined geometry converge. The structure consists of ten warm, medium-brown teak panels with a satin finish that accentuates the wood grain. Each panel features a centrally placed, vertically mounted glass element—clear and amber-hued—with a pronounced geometric grid texture. Two large inner glass shades form the core of the lamp, while metal details and visible screws securing the glass introduce a subtle industrial note. The wooden canopy matches the panels in both finish and color, ensuring visual cohesion. Both glass and wooden components are in excellent, restored condition: the wood has been refreshed, the electrics replaced, and the glass is free of cracks or chips. Condition: restored, with no visible signs of wear. This lamp carries the voice of the 1960s, when Swedish designers prioritized thoughtful material juxtapositions and the poetic function of light. The teak panels evoke the warmth and solidity of everyday Nordic life, while the geometric glass elements transform light into a diffused, sensory display. It tells the story of an era when illumination was meant to be gentle and everyday objects became vessels of sophisticated aesthetics. The chandelier seems to whisper of evening gatherings, with prismatic reflections dancing across the table and the contrast of wood and glass establishing a quiet rhythm in the space. The chandelier is best suited for low suspension above a dining table or kitchen island, where its diffused light will highlight the structure of the wood and glass details. It may be paired
