ABOUT PRODUCTID 42742
The Helestra brass chandelier from the 1980s is a notable example of European vintage lighting design, drawing inspiration from mid-century modern and space age aesthetics. The construction features a robust, proportionate central column from which ten gently curved arms radiate symmetrically. Each arm is finished with a cylindrical brass socket and a smooth, mushroom-shaped shade made of opaline white glass. The entire fixture shines in a warm, polished gold tone typical of quality brass, reflecting light and emphasizing its decorative presence. Measuring approximately 50 cm in width and 20 cm in height (excluding bulbs), the chandelier’s components join seamlessly, with no visible screws or fastenings, resulting in a clean, geometric composition. Condition: very good vintage, with minimal signs of patina typical of age and no significant damage or restoration. This chandelier captures the spirit of the 1980s—a decade when light and metal gained a new significance in home interiors. Its expansive arms and soft glass shades evoke a story of fascination with space and an optimistic vision for the future. The interplay between golden brass and milky glass creates a subtle dialogue of brilliance and softness; the lamp itself, like a luminous bouquet, seems ready to illuminate gatherings, everyday conversations, or quiet moments. The chandelier can be paired with furnishings of simple, geometric forms or classic period accessories—such as walnut tables, velvet-upholstered armchairs, or gilded mirrors. It is well-suited as a statement piece in a living room, above
