This rare faience chandelier, model no. 1362, was designed by Antoni Bisaga and produced by the Włocławek Faience Factory in Poland during the 1950s and 1960s. Its sculptural silhouette is built around a central stem of stacked, spherical ceramic segments, from which seven wide, gently curved arms extend. Each arm ends with a bulb holder adorned by a pierced, decorative ceramic collar. The material is glazed ceramic: the surface is smooth, highly reflective, and covered in a lustrous glaze. The dominant color is a cool, saturated white, accented by vivid cobalt blue floral and foliate motifs, all hand-painted under the glaze. The chandelier’s proportions and ornamentation blend mid-century modern sensibility with traditional Polish folk art, visible in both the hand-painted design and the softened, organic geometry of the form.
