ABOUT PRODUCTID 33
This chandelier, designed by Emil Stejnar for Rupert Nikoll in Vienna (Austria, 1950s), is a notable example of mid-century modern lighting. The structure features eight slender arms crafted from brass and painted metal, converging around a central conical hub in a deep, matte red. Each arm ends with a burst of delicate rods tipped with glass beads in vibrant hues: red, blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, and clear. The polished brass surface and highly saturated glass beads create a lively play of reflection and color. The overall form resembles a floral bouquet or dandelion, emphasizing the organic, dynamic qualities characteristic of the era. The chandelier remains in very good vintage condition, bearing minor signs of use and a few missing beads, typical for original pieces from the 1950s.There is a distinct sense of postwar optimism woven into this lamp—a meeting of playful color with the poise of elegant design. The chandelier seems to tell the story of a time when light and color were both functional and a declaration of new beginnings. The glass beads catch and scatter the light like dewdrops, while the brass arms rise with an airy grace, intent on dispersing the mundane with a burst of brightness. This is an object that, much like a familiar melody, revives the memory of past decades without losing its sense of vitality. The Stejnar chandelier could be suspended above a dining table or as a centerpiece in a living room, where it will naturally draw the eye
