ABOUT PRODUCTID 26556
This Italian vintage chandelier, attributed to Paolo Venini and crafted in the 1970s, exemplifies the artistry of Murano glass so characteristic of the mid-century modern era. Its construction features a circular, highly polished chrome frame from which elongated, hand-blown glass elements are suspended. The dominant color is a translucent amber-orange that lends the chandelier a glowing, honeyed effect. At the center, clear and milky white glass segments introduce a subtle contrast, enriching the overall composition. Each glass piece is shaped like a flower, with organic, fluid lines that reflect the artisanal tradition of Murano. All elements are individually mounted with visible chrome fittings, and the glossy surfaces amplify the interplay of light and reflections. Measuring 120 cm in height and 45 cm in diameter, the chandelier is designed for E14 bulbs. The condition is very good—there are no cracks or chips in the glass, and only minor, age-appropriate signs of use on metal parts. This chandelier tells the story of 1970s Italy, when Murano was a laboratory for new forms and vibrant colors. Its flower-shaped glass elements seem to blossom in the light, conjuring visions of summer evenings in southern Europe. The orange glow, diffused by clear and white glass, recalls the era’s spirit of experimentation—a time when light was meant not only to illuminate, but to shape the mood of a gathering.
