This Scandinavian chest of drawers from the second half of the 19th century embodies refined craftsmanship in the late Biedermeier or early historicist style. Crafted from mahogany in a warm, medium reddish-brown tone, its surface displays a mirror-polished veneer with symmetrical, flame-like grain patterns across four drawers. Each drawer features contrasting white escutcheons and locks, with the top drawer slightly recessed and accented by subtle molding. Two black, turned wooden columns on either side emphasize the vertical lines and introduce a neoclassical touch. The solid base, adorned with a scalloped apron, and the balanced, rectilinear proportions reveal an attention to detail typical for the era.
