ABOUT PRODUCTID 1055
A multifunctional figurine made of pressed wood, which serves as a candle holder, incense burner, bookend, and art object. Each piece is hand-painted and signed. Every LUDISM design is inspired by legends and Polish folklore. Chochoł is the most recognizable symbol of Polish folklore, symbolizing transformation and the passage of time. According to legend, it awakens at night, whispering secrets or revealing visions of the future. Designed and made in Poland by Ola Niepsuj, Karol Pasternak, and Piotr Maciaszek. Each piece is hand-painted by our craftsmen, so there may be slight differences between the product you receive and the photos presented on the website. Legend: Chochoł – a straw phantom, guardian of the fields, and master of survival. Chochoł stands between two worlds — the past and the future, life and death. It is a symbol of transformation – of waiting and rebirth. Those who believe in its presence know that change is inevitable, and with it comes renewal. In LUDISM's interpretation, Chochoł glows with the warm light of the August sun. The elongated, straw lines on its surface lead the eye up and down, as if recalling an hourglass: everything has its time. Is it just a winter phantom, or perhaps a guardian of spring dreams?
