ABOUT PRODUCTID 19362
This chocolate cup and saucer, produced by Hackefors Porslin in Sweden in the 1950s, reflect post-war Scandinavian neoclassicism in porcelain craftsmanship. The set features a cup with three fully gilded cabriole legs, a spiral handle also covered with lustrous gold, and a wide saucer, all formed from soft ivory-white porcelain with a highly glossy, smooth glaze. Hand-painted hazel leaf motifs in a palette of olive, deep forest, and pale green intertwine with brown twigs and delicate ochre-yellow tendrils, while the rims are traced with fine gold banding. The cup’s proportions gently flare outward, and the pronounced well of the saucer ensures both visual harmony and comfortable use. The porcelain remains fresh, with no traces of wear; the gilding is complete and vivid, with no damage or signs of restoration observed. The set is preserved in very good, collectible condition. This piece embodies the quiet spirit of the 1950s—a period when the revival of table rituals balanced tradition with the optimism of a new age. Painted botanicals evoke the northern landscape, while rich gilding and ornate legs recall echoes of historical gatherings, in which the act of savoring chocolate signified both taste and conviviality. The gentle curve and glossy sheen speak of the artisan’s care, honoring both the material and the art of shared delight. The set could serve as part of a refined vintage collection or as a subtle accent in classic, neoclassical, or eclectic interiors. It may be displayed with other botanical-themed porcelain or clear glass to emphasize the vivid decoration and brilliant gold. In combination with a linen tablecloth and silver teaspoons, the ensemble would reinforce the elegant character of traditional table ceremonies; it can also find
