This coffee cup and saucer set, attributed to Carl Tielsch Altwasser (Silesia, 1875–1935), exemplifies early 20th-century porcelain craftsmanship. Made from high-quality white porcelain with a smooth, glossy glaze, the set features hand-applied floral decoration with clusters of lilac blossoms in shades of purple and lilac, complemented by delicate green leaves and meandering brown stems. Both cup and saucer display scalloped, undulating rims highlighted by a shimmering gold gilt border. The cup’s handle is elegantly molded, accentuating the body’s subtle flare towards the rim, while the overall form and ornamentation show influences of late Rococo and Romantic styles, evident in the detailed decoration and asymmetric edges. The original “Eagle in Crown, C.T. Carl Tielsch” hallmark authenticates the piece. Dimensions: cup height 7.5 cm, diameter at rim 7.5 cm, capacity 200 ml; saucer diameter 13.5 cm.
