This vintage coffee table, designed by Paul Michel in the 1970s, is an example of French modernism where functionality meets refined form. The solid ash wood top, finished in a light honey-beige tone, showcases a subtle grain and a satin-matte surface. Its construction rests on a low mirrored pedestal and features a geometric composition: the square tabletop is divided into angular sections converging towards a central opening. Beneath the surface, a hidden dry bar is lined with mirrored glass and fitted with original transparent plexiglass bottle holders. The mirrored elements, both inside and on the pedestal, reflect light and enhance a sense of space and airiness. Craftsmanship is evident in the sharp lines, precise proportions, and careful material selection. The table is preserved in very good condition, with only minor signs of use and no significant damage or intervention to the original structure. The form of this piece speaks with the voice of the 1970s, a period when French design bravely sought new solutions, balancing luxury and practicality. The mirrored base and concealed bar evoke the social spirit of the era – light reflecting from glass and wood creates a play of reflections, while the subtle sheen of ash recalls the ambiance of Parisian apartments where every object had its function and understated elegance. This table seems to say: "I am ready for an evening among friends, where every conversation and toast finds its place under the cover of discreet luxury.
