This brutalist coffee table from the 1980s features a substantial, geometric design with boldly articulated planes. The rectangular top, softened by rounded corners, is composed of large, irregular stone or slate slabs in deep brown, ochre, and muted grey tones. The tabletop has a matte, slightly textured surface that emphasizes the raw, organic nature of the material. A thick, smooth, black border with a subtly glossy finish frames the stone inlay, creating a striking contrast with the organic mosaic. The base consists of two intersecting slab legs, also clad in stone veneer that echoes the colors and textures of the top. The table has a monolithic, grounded silhouette, typical of brutalist aesthetics and reminiscent of Paul Kingma’s artistic legacy.
